The U.S. dollar changed hands in the mid-109 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Wednesday, marginally higher than levels seen overnight in New York.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 109.50-51 yen compared with 109.35-45 yen in New York and 109.62-64 yen at 5 p.m. on Tuesday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1270-1271 dollars and 123.41-45 yen against 1.1271-1281 dollars and 123.35-45 yen in New York and 1.1249-1251 dollars and 123.31-35 yen in late Tuesday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
