The U.S. dollar changed hands in the lower 111 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Tuesday, largely in line with levels seen in Tokyo a day earlier.
As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 111.21-22 yen compared with 111.29-31 yen at 5 p.m. local time on Monday in Tokyo.
The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.1129-1129 dollars and 123.77-81 yen against 1.1179-1180 dollars and 124.41-45 yen in late Monday afternoon trade in Tokyo.
New York and London markets were closed on Monday for national holidays.
